The Emmer Dennen Hunebed is located just ten minutes on foot from the city centre. It is a large ’passage-grave’ which is surrounded by some lush woodlands. The barrow in its current state features six large capstones, a porch, some endstones, and 13 kerbstones which give an idea how how massive the barrow once was. When the Hunebed was first constructed, it would have had 38 kerbstones, but even in its present state it is a massive, and impressive, structure.
