The Molen de Veer is an historic windmill located on Oudeweg in Haarlem. The mill was constructed in 1701, and is no longer in active use, having been replaced in 1935 by an electrical pump system. It has been carefully restored, and can sometimes be seen in operation, depending on the weather. The mill is an external turning one with low sails, and was once used to operate drainage pumps. Visits can be arranged by appointment only.
