The Modderige Bol is an historic water mill located near Peansterdyk in the town of Goëngahuizen. The exact date of its construction is unkown, but the mill first started to appear on maps in 1848. The mill was responsible for a 150 hectare area of land, and was in active use until 1952. In 1978, the Modderige Bol was bought by the Fryske Mill Foundation. The mill has been idle since 1992, and is in need of restoration.
