The De Hoop mill is an old windmill on the western side of Ganzedijk. The mill is of a ’stellingmolen’ design – a large windmill with high sails, and a walkway around the centre that allows the miller to reach the sails. The mill has some flock grindstones for grinding grain, and some ’pelstenen’ stones for grinding barley. The mill is owned by the Groninger Mill Foundation, who maintain and subsidize the operation of the windmill.
