Map

The Damsluis in de Ijtocht is a bridge over one of the Dams in the town of Hoofddorp. It is a part of the defence line which was once used as a means to flood parts of the country in times of war, and keep them drained in times of peace. The bridge was constructed in the late 19th century. It isa protected monument and is part of the Unesco World Heritage scheme. The bridge is quite an interesting sight, and a testament to the engineering skill of our forefathers.
