The Damsluis in de Hoofdvaart is a bridge over the Dam in Hoofddorp. It is a part of the defence line used as a means to defend the country from invaders, and was constructed in the late 19th century. The bridge is a protected monument and is part of the Unesco World Heritage scheme. The bridge is no longer in active use, but is worth visiting as it provides an insight into the civil engineering genius of Dutch people throughout history.
