The Arkens Mill is a relatively modern polder mill located on Van Andek-Ripkestraat in the town of Franeker. The mill first built in 1910, and was moved to its current location in 1972. The Arkens mill is currently owned by Franekeradeel County. Extensive restoration work was carried out on the mill in 1994. The Arkens mill is still in use today, and is a fine example of the role of windmills and wind power in modern Holland.
