The Vrouwgeestmolen was built in 1797 to serve the former 150 hectare Vrouwgeest Polder. The mill has been ran by the Vrolijk family since 1797. The Vrouwgeestmolen was bought by the Rhineland Mill Foundation in 1970, and is now ran on a voluntary basis. The foundation is responsible for the restoration and maintenance of the mill. The current miller is Mr K. Vrolijk, a descendant of one of the original millers.
