The Vermeer Centrum in Delft is a relatively new museum devoted to Johannes Vermeer, who was born in Delft in 1632, and lived and worked there all his life. The museum is housed on the historic site of the former St Lucas Guild, where Vermeer served as Dean of the painters for several years. The musem looks at the life and work of Johannes Vermeer, and explains how he approached his work, and how he used light, composition and colour in his paintings.
