The Town Hall in Abcoude has quite an imposing presence. The building is still in use today, and visitors can go there to get information about the town. Part of the building is used to house the police department. The Town Hall was build in 1883, and, in modern terms, the construction cost around 5,500 Euro, which was a large amount at the time. Since its construction, the building has always been in use as a community building, and the seat of the local government.
