The Theatervoorstelling: Bloedbanket is also known as the Fort bij Rijnawen. There are several forts in the Netherlands. They were built during the 19th century, and were intended for use during times of war. Unfortunately, when the construction of the network of forts was completed, weapons technology had advanced to the point that the old stone forts were rendered obsolete, so the network of forts was closed down after only a few years in use. The Fort bij Rijnawen is one of the few forts that is open to the public.
