The Theatre Museum is a part of the Netherlands Theatre Institute which is housed in five canalside buildings. The Museum shows the history of Dutch theatre with a collection of costumes, prints, drawings, puppets props, and sets. One of the most interesting attractions is the carefully restored home theatre of Baron van Slingelandt which dates back to 1781. The Theatre Institute runs regular debates and workshops, and houses an extensive library of plays, music scores, and international magazines.
