The Viaan Mill was built during the second half of the 16th century, to serve the Bergermeer polder. The mill was in active use until the 1960s. Since then the usage of the mill has been limited because of buildings to the south and east of the mill which block the wind, and low-rise buildings standing close to the mill, preventing it from operating when the wind is blowing in certain directions. Tours of the mill are available by appointment.
