The Star is an old corn mill located in the town of Balkbrug. The mill was first constructed in 1848 by Jan ten Kate, because the older Katingermolen was unable to meet the needs of the town. On the 25th March 1882, the mill was struck by lightning, and burned to the ground. The mill was almost entirely rebuilt in the same year. In 1975, the mill was moved to a new location, and restored to working order. The mill is still in active use, and each week there is a flour market. Guided tours of the mill are available in the winter.
