The Industry Mill was built in 1882 by the well known Dutch mill-maker, Ritsema. The mill was built to replace an older con mill that had been destroyed in a fire. In 1938, the mill was closed down, and its condition began to deteriorate rapidly. The mill was restored in 1955, and was later sold to the town. Today, the mill is ran by Meint Noordhoek, and is open to the public every Saturday. The opening times vary depending on the season.
