The Heimolen was built in 1844 by Marjin Broekhoven to replace an older mill that had been destroyed in 1826. The mill takes its name from the Hoevense heath. In 1951, the mill was sold to Theodore Wilhelmus Franks of Westervoort, who carried out some much needed repair work on the building. The Heimolen is still in working order today, and is used to produce flour for local bakeries, as well as for sale in the mill shop. The Heimolen is open to the public.
