The Cornwerdermolen is a relatively modern polder mill located on Sotterumerdyk in the town of Cornwerd. It was built in 1907, and was in use until November 1972, when it suffered heavy damage during a storm. The mill was restored in 1999, and now uses a unique mechanism that allows the mill to operate with equal efficiency in both strong and mild wind. The Cornwerdermolen is open to the public, and current opening times are listed on the mill web site.
