The Community Mill No. 1 in Driemond is usually referred to as the ’Gaaspermolen’ by locals. The original Gaaspermolen stood on the opposite side of the river, and was used to drain an area of land known as the Gaasper Polder. The Community Mill No. 1 was built during the 1870s, and was commonly, but incorrectly, thought to have taken over the duties of the original Gaaspermolen. The Community Mill No. 1 was restored in 2003, and is now open to the public.
