The Ceres mill is a working corn mill located on Broekerhavenweg in the town of Bovenkarspel. It was built in 1849 by Pieter Schuurman, using parts from the 17th century mill ’The Old Haas’, from Zaandam. The decaying mill was bought by the West Frisian Mills Foundation in 1986, and was restored to working order over a period of six years from 1992 to 1998. The Ceres mill is open to the public every Saturday.
