The Butterfly Mill is a relatively modern mill, it was built in 1913 to replace an older corn mill that was destroyed in a fire. The Butterfly Mill was severely damaged by fire in 1931, and was restored that same year using parts from the recently demolished Heukelum mill. Restoration work was performed in 2002, and the mill is now open to visitors each Saturday. Visitors can also make an appointment to tour the mill on other days. As part of the tour, the miller will demonstrate how the mill works, and explain the role of the miller throughout history.
