The Anermolen was built in 1864 as a replacement for an older mill that was in very poor condition. The mill has had several owners, with the last private owner being William Lenteren. The mill was sold to the town in 1978. The Anermolen is one of the last remaining mills in the town, and in 1981 it was restored by the mill-maker Mr Wintel. The mill is now owned by the ’Aner Mill Foundation’, and is ran on a voluntary basis. The mill is open to visitors every Saturday.
