The Aalstermolen
Raadhuisstraat 28, JD 5582 Aalst - Netherlands

Map
The Aalstermolen was built in 1904, and was originally used to grind corn for the local farmers. In 1934, the mill was sold to the ’SA Society’, a local real estate company. The company sold the mill to the Van Stekelenburg family of millers in 1955, and is still owned by that family today. The mill is currently in a very poor condition, and has been idle since 2001. There are plans to restore the mill, however the work required is very expensive, and it is not expected to be completed for several years.
