The ’1100 Roe’ is a working polder mill located on Herman Bonpad in the city of Amsterdam. The mill was built in 1674 to assist with the drainage of the Sloterbinnen and Middelveld polders. The name of the mill comes from the distance from the mill to the Buitensingelracht, which was ’1100 Rods’, or 4.1 KM. The mill was moved to it’s current location in 1965, and is now used as a backup mill for the Slotermeer polder.
