The Strijkmolen B was one of 14 mills built between 1627 and 1630 to serve the Geestmerambacht and Heerhugowaard polders. In 1941 the mills were decommissioned, and six of them were demolished. The remaining eight mills were rented out as private residences. On March 10th, 2000, five of the mills was bought by the Alkmaar Mill Foundation, and restored. The Srijkmolen B is open to the public, and tours of the mill are available upon request.
