The Stadhuis, or Town House in Bolsward is a magnificent building. Constructed of red brick, the Stadhuis has a stone trimmed Renaissance edifice which dates back to 1613. The building is topped by a lion holding a coat of arms over the head of very terrified Turk. Inside the building there is a small museum which contains items related to the history of the town, which was a thriving textile centre during the Middle Ages.
