The Stadhuis, or Town Hall in Bergen is a large, classical set of three buildings located on the Grote Markt. It is one of the more attractive buildings in Bergen, consisting of three separate houses, the oldest of which, an Alderman’s house, dates back to the late 1300s. The other buildings are a Merchant’s house of 1480, and a building referred to as ’De olifant’ which was constructed in 1611. The buildings have all been carefully restored in recent years.
