The St. Nicolaasmolen in Denekamp was built in 1859 by a hotel owner and a group of farmers, who decided that a third corn mill was needed to supply the town. In 1922 the mill entered a period of decline, and between 1952 and 1984, ownership of the mill was transferred several times. Today, the St Nicolaasmolen is owned by the Latrop-Tilligte Mill Foundation, and it is used as a teaching mill. The mill is open to the public every Saturday morning.
