The St Janskathedraal (or, St Johns Cathedral) is considered by many to be one of the finest cathedrals in the country. It was constructed between 1330 and 1530 – the building was originally a Romanesque-style parish, but a Gothic transept and choir was added between 1340 and 1450, and the original building was demolished, and re-done in an Gothic style. Only the clock tower remains of the original Romanesque construction.
