The St Agnieten Mill is a historic water mill located in Park Sonsbeek in the town of Arnhem. The mill was built in 1404. Water mills were quite common in southern Holland – they were usually built on narrow streams and rivers, and were often used to produce paper. The mills would have a small barred gate on the river side to trap debris and prevent them jamming up the intake. The St Agnieten Mill is now owned by the Arnhem County.
