The Spinnenkop Mill is one of several windmills belonging to the Dutch Open Air Museum. The mill was originally built in the early 1800s, and served the Gorredijk polder. The mill was moved to its current location in 1922, when the owners of the polder installed a petrol powered pump to take over the duties of the mill. The Spinnenkop is now owned by the Dutch Open Air Museum Foundation. The mill can regularly be seen in operation, and is open to the public.
