The St Jacobs Church is also known as the ’Grote Kerk’ (or, Great Church). The building dates back to the middle of the 15th century, and is one of the most interesting churches in Den Haag. The church has three knaves of equal height, creating a impressive sense of breadth. The church has some interesting stained glass windows in the choir ambulatory, some of which are believed to be the work of Dirk Crabeth. There is also a memorial to Admiral Jacob van Opdam, who died in the Battle of Lowestoft in 1665.
