The Mill LQ was built in the late 16th century, to manage a 298 hectare section of the Zijpe and Hazepolder. The mill is located on the outskirts of the Burgervlotbrug hamlet, and the surrounding area is very scenic. The Zijpe and Hazepolder relied exclusively on wind power for its drainage for almost 300 years, until a diesel pump took over the duties of the windmills. In the early 1970, the mill was restored by the Hollands Noorderkwartier company. Tours of the mill are available by appointment only.
