The Mesdag Panorama is the world’s largest circular, or ’panoramic’ painting, with a circumference of 119 metres. The painting is over 14m tall, and, when you are standing in the middle of it, you become a part of the scene and feel as if you are really there. The painting places you the 1880 fishing village of Scheveningen. The Mesdag Panorama was painted in 1881 by Hendrik Willem Mesdag, with the help of his wife and two other well known artists.
