The Martinikerk is located at Groot Kerkhof in Bolsward. It is a fifteenth century church, and was originally built on an earthen mound for protection from flooding. The church features some wonderful wood carving, including a seventeenth century pulpit which was carved from a single oak tree by two local men. The stone front of the church dates back to around 1000, while the stained glass windows are far more modern and depict scenes of Nazi occupation.
