The Madurodam is a picturesque miniature city, spread out over a 25,000 square metre area in the Scheveningen Woods. The Madurodam is a replica of some famouse Dutch landscapes and well known monuments on a 1:25 scale. The entire city is fully functioning, with miniature trains traveling around the city, ships sailing, and plains taxiing down runways. During the day, there is a town fair in progress, and, when nightfall comes, 50,000 miniature street-lamps light up. If you don’t have time to visit all of Holland for real, then this miniature version is a great, and realistic, substitute.
