The Jewish Historical Museum is housed in the Old Synagogue of the German Jews – once used by those who sook refuge in Amsterdam during the 30 Years War. The Historical Museum has over 11,000 works of art and historical objects, however only five percent of these are on permanent display, with the others occasionally shown in exhibitions. The Resource Centre within the Historical Museum features over 40,000 books, brochures and other informational materials on Jewish culture and history.
