The Fort at Hinderdam is a former Dutch fort that has a very long history. It was originally constructed in the late 17th century, to control traffic on the Vecht and the Vecht dijk. It was a part of the Old Holland Waterline, and later became a part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam. The fort fell out of use in the 1930s, and is now owned by the Society For the Preservation of Forestry in the Netherlands.
