Groenveld Castle was built in the early 18th century. It was originally surrounded by French style gardens, but these were later redesigned to form an English landscape park. In 1981, the castle became home to the National Centre for Woodland, Wildlife and Landscape. There are regular exhibitions, concerts, and historically themed events held at the castle and on the park grounds. There is also a restaurant on the castle terrace, and several period rooms within the castle itself.
