The ’Escher In The Palace’ exhibition is housed in the Lange Voorhout Palace, which was built in the early 1800s, and was the home of Queen Emma until 1891. More recent monarchs, including Queen Beatrix, have held their official receptions at the palace. It is now a permanent museum, dedicated to the Dutch artist Maurits Conelis Escher. Many of his prints and sketches are on display, along with modern multimedia adaptations of his works. The aim of the museum is to bring his works to life, and make them accessible to all.
