The ’De Hoop’, or, ’The Hope’ mill is a 17th century corn mill located on Hofstraat in the town of Den Oever. The mill was bought by the The Wieringer Mill Association in 1952, at the time it was in a very poor condition, but it was restored and re-opened in 1960 by a team of volunteer millers. The wind profile of the bill has been severely affected by a number of low buildings that were erected near by, but the mill is still ran on a regular basis. Tours of the mill can be arranged upon request.
