The De Hoop Mill was built in 1865, and sold to the Van Riel family in 1911. Janus Van Riel was the miller of the De Hoop mill for many years, and became the chairman of the Dutch Association of Private Mills. In the late 1970s, his son converted a part of the mill into a restaurant. The mill offers some beautiful views. The De Hoop Mill is open to the public, although an appointment is usually required.
