De Appel is an institute for contemporary art which aims to provide both famous and unknown artists with a space to work on their projects and conduct research. The Foundation De Appel runs six exhibitions each year, and also holds talks, discussions, lectures and video presentations. De Appel offer guided tours of their exhibitions, and run occasional educational workshops for younger visitors. They also produce a number of publications in close collaboration with their artists.
