The Concertgebouw (Concert Hall) was built in 1888 and is considered by many critics to be the most acoustically perfect concert hall in the world. It attracts 800,000 visitors per year, and organises over 350 concerts annually.
There are two concert halls in the building – the Kleine Zaal (small hall) and the Grote Zaal (large hall). Even the Grote Zaal offers a good view of the performers as well as impeccable acoustics. Each Wednesday during the October to June concert season there are free short lunch time performances.
