The original Camp Vught was the only official SS concentration camp in north west Europe. It served as a transport camp, holding Jews before the were transported on to Westerbork, and from there to the death camps. The site now holds a small reconstruction of the original camp, which offers a vivid idea of the conditions that Jews, and members of the resistance had to endure. Most of the information around the camp is presented in Dutch, but there are English speaking guides available if required.
