The Café Chris is located on a quiet back street in Amsterdam. The Café Chris is Amsterdam’s oldest remaining drinking den, or brown café. It opened in 1624 and has remained, to this day, a drinker’s paradise. Visitors enjoy cool, reasonably priced beers in a traditional, quiet bar away from the bustle of modern Amsterdam life. There are a number of unusual features, such as the toilet in the bathroom that flushes from inside the bar.
