The Buitengalerie Amsteltuin is a combination of a gallery and a vineyard. It was opened in 2004 by Jan Schake and Tieke Roosen, who had previously been owners of a small vineyard in Amstelveen. They decided to open a day centre, and offer visitors an idea of how vineyards work, and a chance to enjoy wine tastings, and just relax in the beautiful countryside. They offer a picture garden with a number of rotating exhibits, featuring mostly applied art and sculptures.
