The Bredius Museum is an art gallery which displays a collection of paintings that had been donated to the city from the private collection of, Abraham Bredhuis, an art connoisseur and former director of the Mauritshuis, in 1946. The collection includes two paintings by Rembrandt, and some genre paintings by Roelandt Savery and Aert van de Neer. There are also some interesting works by Jan Steen, including the ‘Satyr and the Peasant’, which is Steen’s take on the well known Aesop Fable.
