The Braamtse mill was built in 1856 by order of Jan Willem Kelderman. The mill underwent extensive restoration work in 1964, and was in active use until 1999. Since then the mill has fallen into a state of disrepair, but futher restoration work began in 2005, and it is hoped that the mill will be returned to working order in the near future. The mill is the only one in the Netherlands which uses a drive system designed by Beckers and Van Bussel.
