The Borcht Castle is one of the oldest castles in the town of Baarlo. The castle was built in the late 14th century, and has a very violent past. The castle was seiged three times in less than two hundred years. The castle was re-built in the 17th century, but some older parts of the castle can still be seen, such as the marl gate tower, which is thought to be from the earliest period of the castle. Today, the Borcht Castle is used as an exhibition centre.
