The Bleiswijk Mill C-1 is one of several historic wind mills that originally served the polders surrounding the Bleiswijk and Hillegersberg area. The mill was built in 1849, and at that time there were five polders – the Klap-, Overbuurtse, Hoekeindse, Oosteindse en Butterdorpse polders. There were seven groups of mills, labelled from A to G. Group A had three mills in it, and the other groups all had four mills. The C-1 Mill was ran on wind power until 1913. Today, only the mill body and the paddle remain in good condition.
